Illustration Design Process: Alchemist's Shelf
Digital Illustration, 2021
A commissioned phone wallpaper built around a functional constraint - several items in the scene double as a buttons.
The five primary shortcuts along the bottom are a mailbox, spider, pangolin, imp, and scrying ball (messages, browser, app drawer, Discord, and photos).
Process

A phone layout screenshot and list of desired shortcuts and items were provided as reference. From there I developed an initial sketch, refined it through feedback, and tested several lighting variants before reaching the final illustration.

Character Design Process: Great Horned Owl
Digital Illustration, 2021
A commissioned anthropomorphic character design. The brief called for a feminine great horned owl in modern clothing.
Process

A variety of sketches and portraits were completed before embarking on the main reference sheet, to ensure the design matched the client's expectations.
Creating an accurate, simplified representation of the feather patterns and textures was a priority in this illustration.

Character Design Process: Avian Xenomorph
Digital Illustration, 2018
A school project to design a new character for an existing game. Xenomorph biology adapts to its host animal, so this explores what one might look like if the host were a bird.
Process

Several anatomical studies and species variants were completed before arriving at the final design, including crow, vulture, and parrot iterations.
The design began rooted in existing Xenomorph media but shifted toward primarily avian anatomy over time. This evolution is most visible in the legs, wings, and breastplate.
